Cancer-aware recipes made to share

Food is an important part of our lives that not only keeps us going, but can also keep us together. In the new light of the coronavirus pandemic, we saw an explosion of have-a-go chefs taking to social media to share their banana bread and sourdough. So we thought to ourselves, “Hey, let us get in on the action!”.

We have created a set of cancer-aware recipes that are designed to help you fall back into the joy of cooking and want to share your dishes with others.

We know that having cancer can affect your appetite and eating habits for a variety of reasons, so we’ve compiled a list of supportive tips and suggestions to help you deal with these issues. Cooking should be for everyone, and we want you to feel part of the Cooking Community.

Having a well balanced diet and maintaining a healthy weight may help you through treatment and improve your overall sense of wellbeing. A good diet also supports good mental health. That’s why we’ve created mindful audio guides to the recipes to help you get into the zone and relax into the kitchen.

These recipes may be developed for cancer patients and survivors, but we encourage everyone to try our dishes and share the results! When you upload your dish to social media, remember to tag us with #lttcooking to be part of the Cooking Community and see what everyone else has been up to.

Sharing is easy with #LTTcooking

When you’ve uploaded your post, go back to it and click on the #LTTcooking hashtag to see what others have been up to. See something you like, let them know! Wonder how someone tweaked the recipe? Just ask! With so many of us isolated over lockdown, there’s never been a better time to get online and connect!

Our recipes are meant to be enjoyed by all, that is why we have both an e-book and audio guides for everyone to use. Better yet, it’s all free! Our book is full of recipes and tips for managing side effects and our audio guides double up as mindfulness sessions. So, why not try them out and see how great they are for yourself?
